I want to thank all of my subscribers, new and long-standing. Your listening and receptiveness to hearing Neve’s story has given me a voice and a space in which to share it. I keep having to remind myself that I can’t tell Neve about my writing and painting. This I feel as a deep ache in my stomach, an inability to wrap my head around reality. I think she would be pleased to know that her life was having an impact; this keeps me writing and painting.
This past Saturday, as some of you may have spotted, I was privileged to have a piece of writing published in The Telegraph Magazine. This morning, it was published online. It is a slightly shorter version of my latest piece of writing, 40 hours at home, accompanied by photographs, including one of me painting in Neve’s room.

It will soon be behind a paywall, possibly as early as tomorrow morning (August 6th), UK time; if you can, do read it before then. I am grateful to the Telegraph for sharing it freely today. This will certainly have enabled a large number of people to read about this poignant time after Neve’s death. I hope this is a start in opening up conversations about this precious time and how the choices we are able to make really matter. I am grateful for all your help in sharing this as widely as possible.
In addition, though I have been distracted by getting this piece ready for publication, I am still committed to raising funds to buy our local NHS children’s community nursing team their own cool blanket and cool cot, so that other families have choices too. As such, I would be grateful for any support that you feel able to give. www.justgiving.com/page/bigteanevestyle
Finally, I have a new website! Do come and have a look and share it with those who might be interested. https://www.emilytammam.co.uk
Thank you. More writing and painting to come.
Warmly
Emily
